Small business has become the backbone of our
national economy. It is the source of most jobs created and the
primary training ground for people entering the workforce. We are
the volunteer arm of the Small Business Administration (SBA), a
non-profit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the
formation, growth and success of small business throughout Northwest
NJ. We provide confidential one-to-one counseling seminars and workshops
to help people start and operate successful small business.
Ours is one among many chapters, and our volunteer
members, who are both retired or actively engaged in their business
of profession, are among more than 11,500 nationwide helping clients
solve their management problems and create stronger, more efficient
businesses.
Of primary interest to our clients, is the widely
diversified background of our members. Members are both retired
and working professionals, and usually have a minimum of 25 years
experience in their dedicated field.
We are looking for volunteers to assist us in
accomplishing our mission. We are looking for men and women with
experience in business start-ups, financing, planning, marketing,
retailing and merchandising, engineering, or other aspects of small
business management.
Successful applicants, after a short training
period, will become members of a special group of people willing
to pass on their secrets to success to others. Guidance and support,
based on their years of experience in the business world, can play
an important role in helping small businesses acheive success.
Members also serve on one of their chapter's
committees and assist in conducting business seminars in local schools
and colleges.
For further assistance or to request an application,
you can reach SCORE Chapter 24 at info@njscore24.org.
